Yes, it is possible to share a Kombucha scoby with others. A scoby (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) is the living culture that ferments the sweet tea into Kombucha. When sharing a scoby, it is important to ensure that it is healthy and clean to prevent any contamination. Additionally, it is recommended to provide instructions on how to properly care for and brew Kombucha with the scoby. **

White spots on a kombucha scoby can indicate a few different things. It could be a sign of mold, which is not safe to consume and means the batch should be discarded. However, if the spots are small and fuzzy, it's likely mold. It could also be a natural part of the scoby's growth process, especially if the spots are smooth and not fuzzy. In this case, the kombucha is likely still safe to consume. It's important to carefully inspect the scoby and use your best judgment to determine if the batch is still good. **

A Kombucha SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) is typically shelf-stable for a few weeks to a few months when stored properly. It can be stored in a cool, dark place in a sealed container with some of the kombucha liquid it was cultured in. However, it is best to use the SCOBY within a few weeks to ensure its viability and effectiveness in fermenting new batches of kombucha. If stored for longer periods, the SCOBY may lose its potency and may not produce the desired fermentation results. **
