History is often written by the victors because they have the power and resources to shape the narrative in their favor. Victorious parties tend to have more influence over the recording and interpretation of events, allowing them to highlight their achievements and downplay any negative aspects. Additionally, those who are defeated may not have the opportunity or means to tell their side of the story, leading to a biased and one-sided account of historical events. This can result in a skewed version of history that may not accurately reflect the experiences of all involved. **

After defeating France in 1815, the victors, including Britain, Russia, Prussia, and Austria, imposed harsh terms on France through the Treaty of Paris. France was forced to pay a large indemnity, reduce its army, and give up territories it had conquered. In the case of Poland, Hitler invaded the country in 1939, quickly defeating its military forces and occupying the country. He then implemented a brutal occupation regime, including the establishment of ghettos and concentration camps. This was a more extreme and aggressive approach compared to how he dealt with other defeated countries, such as France, where he installed a puppet government. **
